We Survived!

Hi Everyone!
It's been two weeks since I last blogged because we made our big move and have been furiously emptying boxes to resettle.  I can tell you that we survived, but that's about it.  I think we are too old for this moving stuff!

Every day for the past three weeks we have been on our feet non-stop sorting, packing, delivering, unpacking, cleaning and organizing stuff.  We have so much stuff!  We are shocked at how much stuff we have even after getting rid of lots of miscellaneous items and furnishings.

After two weeks of organizing other parts of the house, we were able to spend some time working on the studio yesterday.  It is a good size room with great natural light and the goal is to make it both the wool supply room and a hooking room for Larry and me.

Here are some pic's of work in progress.  It doesn't look like much yet, but I think it will come together nicely and give us a small but functional studio area.  The goal is to keep me from taking over the rest of the house with my wool!  We'll only know after more time if that is a realistic goal or not.

One of the really nice features of the studio is that it has a sliding glass door that goes to the front (gated) entryway.  The prior owners left us a set of outdoor furniture for this patio area.  It will be a beautiful place for morning to mid-afternoon hooking as there is no direct sun on this area.  I have lots of imaginings about my (new found) hooking friends gathering here to hook in a nice shady area.  Here's a picture of the courtyard area.
The dogs will be able to be out here with us as we hook.

Studio entry from the outside.  You can also enter from our master bedroom hallway.

There are some colorful outdoor cushions for this lounge too - just not pictured.
A gurgling fountain to add a little charming noise.
It looks a little sterile from the pictures, but think colorful wool, women yakking away and laughing and it will be a nice cozy spot for out door hooking!  I can't wait!
